Doesn't hold up a winter coat, but slacks, shirts, robes no problem.
The door was painted with one of those flat/eggshell paints that sometimes have a chalky film on them, I just wiped it with a dry cloth and they stuck as promised.

These hooks are functional and OK for what they are. The design for affixing them is a bit lacking. There are two holes in each for the screws. First of all, if you are screwing this into wood or a stud, only one screw is necessary. Secondly, the positioning of the lower hole makes it virtually impossible to maneuver a screw driver in place; the lower coat hook obstructs the path. So I bought one package, used one screw to secure each, and they work fine.

I was afraid that the adhesive wouldn’t hold and it would fall like so many similar products, but so long as you do as the directions say, it’s sturdy and stays in place. I’m impressed.

I attached them to the wall to hang backpacks. The backpacks were not that heavy, but pulled down the clips with a ton of wall paint with them. Junk!

Wow, I was not expecting them to be so heavy and sturdy, extremely well made and inexpensive. Definitely can hold a heavy backpack/bookbag AND a coat. I bought 3 more sets immediately.
They may not be a good idea for a very snug fitting door at the top. My doors are not snug and it's a teeny bit tight so I hung some on closet doors. Love them.
